I just caught a bit of a TV interview with our useless mayor stating that this festival will actually cost Philadelphia money in the short term, but he hopes the exposure will have economic benefits in the future. What a pointless mess.

I stick by an earlier assertion this is going to be lame (not the wedding- the concert).

Its reminding me somewhat of that RedBull disaster on the camden waterfront a few years ago.

Nutter just threw out Street for the #1 spot on my worst mayor in Philadelphia list.

There's money to pay for this concert. Meanwhile you have the Roxborough branch of the library that has constant delayed openings because either security isn't there or they're short staffed. Frigging ridiculous!

I read that the United Way is expected to get at least $500,000 from this and wonder if the immediate cost to the city is more or less than that. I understand that they may be future economic benefits but that's all rather intangible.

As of yesterday morning, they've sold about 60,000 tickets for both days.

Shhhhhh. Don't want to be labeled a nimby if you think the show is a bad idea. What are the charging stations anyway? Outlets?

They only wanted 50K which is what the presale tickets took care of(at 100 a pop)and made their money. The other tiers were for 25K( at $125) and another 25K( at $200). The 100K number was just the number we know is the capacity of that area(With the whole Parkway at 1 million).

Took a couple of years to make it Profitable, but it was worth it for Chicago...

I've been in the concert business for 20+ years, and you have no idea what you're talking about here.
