Default Apology being extended to the woman startled by Gus the Puppy

I am the owner of Gus and want to apologize for Gus the puppy startling you as you were jogging in the park today. I was in the midst of a conversation and admit I was not on top of my dog because he was playing with a number of other dogs in the park. When I heard all the yelling I ran over to find out what all the commotion was about. You made it clear you were not being given your apology. I did not realize it was my pup that started it. So I apologize again. I also apologized to the other dog owners for them being yelled at and obsinities directed at them for my puppies actions. They explained to me what happend and again I apologized to them for being screamed at and obscenities directed at them. I also went to the mothers of the children in the playground and apoligized to them for my puppy startiling you and tharefor having there children subjected to the string of obscenities.

So If it has not been made clear I want to publicly apologize for my puppy startling you as you were jogging. I also apologize to the other dog owners for them being subjected to your frustration and anger. Lastly I wanted to apologize to the parents and the children that were subjected to the crude language and yelling that occurred.

I had my back to the commotion so I did not witness it. But from what I was told he was being a puppy. Just a big ugly puppy and that is enough to be startling to some people.

Sounds like Gus the Puppy was not on a leash in the park?

I know someone (not in Philadelphia so couldn't be the person today) who has the most insane fear of animals, from deer to house cats. There must be a psychological condition for this because it's seriously debilitating. While I think this person needs to get over it, it's possible that whoever had a run-in with Gus has a serious phobia. I'm not excusing the yelling and cursing but wanted to point out reason why it might have happened.

You should also apologize to all of the responsible dog owners who leash their dogs and pay attention to them. It is self-righteous dog owners like you who make it so hard for those who are responsible. Though you love dogs, lots of people do not and feel threatened by them. So get off of your high horse. If I was running through a park, not a dog park, and a dog jumped on me I would freak out too. You have no one to blame for the situation but yourself.

Self-righteous? High horse? Sounds like you're describing your own D-bag rant. Get over yourself. Really.

I don't see the tenor of this discussion going downhill at all, from this point.

You should be ashamed. That lady just happened to be my main squeeze Sycamore. We had brunch in bed and then she decided to take a jog but forgot to remove the peanut butter I put on her hooha. Like a moth to a flame, that bitch came foaming at the mouth and jumped on her poon!!! I will not tolerate a lack of tang and will be seeking legal council to make sure you and Gus pay dearly for your lack of cooth then, and my girl's lack of cooter now.

Ya know, a similar thing happened to me. Three off leash dogs rushed me and my dogs (which were leashed) while in a public park. I yelled at the owners not because I was afraid of their dogs, I was afraid FOR their dogs. One of mine is not very agreeable with other dogs, particularly when leashed, and it could have been ugly. They got offended when I was trying to protect THEIR dogs. You just never know what your big goofy puppy may run up to, and pay the price for.

    Perfect.

    Spoken like a truly indignant, d-bag, dog-owner.

On my block I watched a 2-year old get attacked by an off-leash pittbull, (excuse me, a "pittie"), and then blame the toddler for startling their sweet "puppy". It took a second incident and a call to the police but that "puppy" is no longer with us.

Since when did dogs and their d-bag owners decide that they run this city?

    They don't. Not at all.

That said we need lots more dog parks or open spaces where dogs can run. Or this type of thing will continue to happen. There's only one place i let mine off leash and that is a private area totally fenced in.

I get wanting to let your dog play. Totally. But the leash is safe for all, especially if you are having a conversation and are not paying attention. That is totally the owners fault absolutely.

I still wonder how old and big gus the puppy is.

Wrong, it will continue to happen. I just took my dog to fenced run at Pretzel Park last weekend. One couple had their dog off-leash OUTSIDE the run, ten feet away from the dog park entrance.

I still wonder how old and big gus the puppy is.
It doesn't matter. Gus' owner was wrong to ignore the leash law, doesn't matter if Gus weighs 10 pounds or 100 pounds.
