Default Theives scanning for unlocked cars in Francisville.

I realize that the topic of car theft in Fair/Francis/Spring is nothing new to this Forum.

Has anyone witnessed individuals walking through the 21st - 19th section of Brown up to Girard? 2 things make these occurrences odd: 1) the time of day, 2) the lack of damage

Three nights/days in a row, vehicles on and around our block have had visible hand prints on the windows, and in some cases (three know) the cars were actually entered. Nothing was taken or damaged within the vehicles, but the glove box and circuit board cover were clearly tampered with. What makes it even weirder is that these are occurring, not at 3am, but closer to 6am (which is a time when the morning commute picks up).

My car was one of the three, along with my neighbor and a gentlemen 1 block down.

We are used to the smash and grab work that typically goes down in Francisville, but this almost has the appearance of preparation.

Thoughts or info would be appreciated!

My car was also entered on Friday night. I always lock it but this could have been the one time that I didn't lock it of course.

I was parked on 16th between Wallace and Mt Vernon (Next to the School Parking Lot).

The glove compartment was open and the contents spilled out on the passenger floor and my change had been taken.

Nothing else there for them to take.

    Ah Well, City Livin.

I gotta tell you this happens in EVERY neighborhood in the city. Even those considered the safest. There are jerkoff kids and drug addicts all over the place and it doesn't take any sophistication to try a bunch of door handles.

Lock your doors and don't leave valuables in your car, and if you absolutely positively must leave valuables in your car, keep them out of sight... and lock your doors!
