    Default Reading Viaduct Entrance

Looking to do a little urban hiking, does anybody know the "entrance" to the Reading Viaduct and how to get to it? PM me if you'd rather not make it public.

    Thanks!

Easiest way I think is to go up broad st from city hall until you hit the colorful red train cafe (Noble st).

Turn in there. Go a block.

    You can't miss it.

Let us know how it goes!

You can also shimmy up the pole on Green Street

Keep in mind I've never actually wondered far on to the structure. Always wanted to. So I couldn't tell you if there is a blockage up ahead on the viaduct or not - based on the googles it looks to be a clean walk from there but I guess that's yet to be confirmed. It definitely is an easy way onto the elevated structure to start with.

Where the spur comes down to grade between Broad and 13th on Noble you can just walk on. There's a chain link gate where it meets the main viaduct, but there's a big gap underneath you can crawl under.

I was up there a couple of weeks ago. The Noble Street entrance has a fence with a gap underneath it (complete with a plastic board to facilitate sliding) though the squeeze may be a bit tight. It's also possible to get up via the abandoned elevated station at 9th & spring Garden through a hole in the fence there though that entry requires a slightly more adventurous spirit. You're in luck because the foliage has been culled recently so views won't be too obscured. Watch your step up there and wear good boots.

Is there anything of note inside the Spring Garden Station?

Yeah, the building is sealed up pretty good and covered with graffiti.

There's a see-saw and a swing up there now, not sure how long they'll last.
