Is this a joke? I've been trying to figure out who the heck this guy is on this billboard and why he's on it forever!

I saw the show at the Museum a couple of weeks ago. The photo gallery is not large, and there are too many photos displayed, but it would have been hard to choose what to hold back. She has a delicate, respectful interraction with her subjects, and it's clear she doesn't photograph to exploit. Her landscapes, while not as consistently satisfying as her portraits, have their strengths. The billboards are a parallel project, and seem difficult to understand as solo works, without any context, as the poster above demonstrates. But, I came upon two stacked billboards on Henry near Allegheny & Hunting park. Two views of a full moon. Odd, out of context, no explanation as to why they are there, but as you drive up Henry they are, there poised against the sky, dual moons hanging above the horizon.
I also attended a talk she gave at the Museum with Steve Earle, the singer-songwriter. Two progressives who talked about how their work reflects their politics, and how difficult it is to separate one's politics from one's self . . .and the self is expressed in their art. He's been active with an organization in Philly based in Kensington that represents housing rights activists. I admit I'd never heard of the group or known of his activism, though I do remember a push a few years ago to allow homeless families to live in abandoned properties owned by the city - it's that group. Another talk with Zoe is coming up on March 4 where she will talk about her work and . . .Springsteen. Can't wait for that one. The talks are free after admission, but need ticketing.
Saw one of an older woman at Passyunk and Reed in South Philly and couldn't figure it out..thanks!

I saw it too and was surprised how much I liked it. I don't always appreciate photography and I think what I liked was the window she provided into life in some of Philly's, Camden's, and other places' hardest hit neighborhoods.
This I am not so sure about.
