Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any concrete information regarding any property tax increases that the city will impose on us in the Francisville area? As of now, all information gathered on websites seems to be speculation. We live close to Cambridge Street off of 19th. I am considering a refi on my house, down to a 15 year mortgage. The price will increase a bit, but is certainly doable with todays taxes. If we are seeing a tremendous increase, then it will not be a viable option. I got one of those letters that said my house is appraised at $225,000.

I have tried speaking to representatives of the city, or the help lines they offer - however, they seem more confused than I am.

thanks

Hi y'all,

4 questions:

1) Fastest way to get a street parking permit - in person or by mail?

2) I saw on the PPA site that 15 guest passes were available for $15, but another page had it listed for $35 for only 5! Which is it?

3) Does PPA really enforce the Monday-Sunday 8AM - Midnight permit parking at night? 7 days a week? Really? (I saw this sign on N.23rd St).

4) Moving truck - can you get a street spot reserved in advance for a small moving truck for a few hours?

THANKS!!

If anyone is looking for it, it ran down Aspen, than down 24th Street heading toward Fairmount. A bunch of other people had seen it too. I put my dogs inside and kept looking for it but no luck. Hope this information helps and it gets home safe.

I just don't know the answer to this.

I know there's been some development along Fairmount Avenue, and a few restaurants and business have renovated and opened, but is there any kind of "unified" concept of plan to re-make Fairmount Avenue's sidewalks, curbs, lighting, etc. more pedestrian and neighbor-friendly? I look at a few blocks--say, the Parking Lot on the north side of Fairmount (2200) that was re-done a number of years ago, and it looks very nice. Well maintained landscaping, some bricked sidewalk, etc.

Then there are other blocks that look terrible, particularly on the eastern end toward Broad Street. Case in point--the Stone's beer distributor. A few nice renovations in and around, but STone's has terrible looking razor-wire, chain link fencing, etc.

I recall the Fairmount CDC had posted some plans in its office on Fairmount for years, but I never heard anything ever come of it. Maybe it's simply a City-funding issue. But does either Spring Garden or Fairmount Civic Assocation have any plans with the City?
