Default An Enemy of the People @ SJU Theatre Company Feb 14-24

Arthur Miller's version of Ibsen's classic story is as timely as ever: A small Norwegian town has just begun to win fame and wealth through its medicinal spring waters, having constructed a health spa to boost the economy. Dr. Stockmann, resident physician in charge, discovers that the waters are poisoned because town officials and the board of the corporation that built the spa did not heed his warning that improper construction could lead to contamination. On receiving proof of this, he immediately reports to his associates, and is shocked to find that he is looked upon as a dangerous crank who will destroy the town. When he is pressured to remain silent, the doctor must decide whether to obey or risk everything and speak the truth.

Running time is about 2 hours, including intermission. Performances will take place in Bluett Theatre in Post Hall at Saint Joseph's University, which is located at 56th and Overbrook, just a block from 54th and City Ave., on February 14, 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 8pm and February 24 at 2pm. General admission tickets are $18 and discounted $10 tickets are available to students from any university with ID and to Senior Citizens at $10. Groups of 10 or more may also request a group rate of $10 if all are attending the same performance; group rates must be requested in advance. Tickets may be reserved at SJU Theatre Company or by phone at 610-660-1181 (which means you get the best available seats in advance), but all tickets must be paid for at the performance by cash or check (credit cards cannot be accepted for payment). The house opens thirty minutes prior to curtain for seating and performances begin as scheduled, so arrive early.

Apologies for posting both here and in "culture" but I wanted to be sure all of those who might be interested would see it.
