Good job with your advocacy, Arctic!

Exactly! All the info the Managing Director's office needs is right on Artic's website. Delivered on a silver platter.
The info's there! Start writing fines today!
IMO, there is no question that we wouldn't be reading about Mayor Nutter's Bandit sign plans today if it were not for ArticSplash.
Yes, we've all complained about them and some of us have even ripped them down. But no one--especially our city services- has ever taken the time to actually dig in, remove signs and identify the people behind this blight. Let alone establish a website dedicated to exposing this blight and the trashy "businesses" behind it all.
Lemko is another strong force behind this movement to improve the appearance of our neighborhoods. He's been at it forever!
Thank you both. Because of you, and many others involved, the Managing Director's office has gone on the record with plans to eradicate this blight in our neighborhoods.
If there are jobs to be created addressing this issue, the Managing Director's office should look no further than some of the members of this site.

This is a great example of how an individual can focus on an issue and make change happen. Great job Meat.
Well so far nothing has really changed yet except that a couple people from the Mayor's office have warmed up and actually mentioned that there's a "plan" in the works to do something about these signs.
So until I actually actually see some fines slapped on people's butts... it's not exactly a win.
Yet.
Here we go again with our lightweight mayor focusing on the trivial issues, signs on polls, soda, cigarettes, etc., instead of the major crimes like the murder rate, black on black crime, home break-ins, bank and store robberies. What I don't understand is people who jump on these lightweight issues and hoop and holler about them, but their attention regarding the bigger crime issues seems to last as long as the blip of attention the news media gives these crimes. I guess the re-direction and slight of hand mayor Nutter uses by focusing on the little issues instead of the major crimes is working.
