Default Legitimate alternatives to cash for cars

My car has been immobile for a few months now, it needs repairs but I can't really afford them and don't really need a car. Does anyone know a legitimate way for me to donate my car to a charity or another way to get rid of it besides selling it to these crooks?

I used Car Donation | Donate A Car | Car Donations | 1-800 Charity Cars to donate a car a couple of years ago. They're legit.

I know donating it is probably the preferred method, but have you considered just selling it to a scrap yard (unless that's who you're referring to)? They're paying "good money" due to metal prices.

What kind of car? What's wrong with it? If you were to sell it privately today--"as-is"--what would you ask (<--personal curiosity).

It's a 95' Infiniti J-30 with about 185,000 on it, can't remember what exactly is wrong with it because it has been so long but it will run $750-1000 to get it repaired. Personally I'd rather donate it because I don't think it is worth selling/buying but the Bluebook is about $2000 so I'd guess i'd be looking for $1000 dollars.

    Thanks for the help.

Some first aid and fire/rescue squads will take them. They use them to practice extrication, etc. I donated a car that way once.
If you believe people should work till they die to pay for a government worker to retire at 50, you're a Democrat. Otherwise, you're a Republican. All other differences between the parties are trivial.

We donated my husband's care here: Purple Heart Car Donation | Auto Donation | Donate My Car | Donate A Car a few years ago. They will schedule a tow company to come tow the car if it doesn't drive.

The Salvation Army will also accept your donated car:

    Hi

If you have decided to give your car as donation and not to give it to junk car removal services available in USA. Then my advice to you is to please visit Donate Car|Donate Cars|Donate Vehicle|Car Donations|Car Donation|Donate my Car to Charity|Donate Junk Cars|Sell my Car|Junk a Car|Junk my Car site for the charity purpose. Its the good charity organization and you can donate your vehicle their with much ease.
