    Default Transformers 2 Philly scenes

Now that it is on DVD and Blu-Ray and iTunes, we can now look at this movie and count the parts of Philly we know isn't FRANCE....

Two of my friends pointed out to me that some of the scenes were filmed on Penn's campus. I have yet to see the movie (or the previous Transformers movie for that mater).

I have a friend who gets prop cars for the industry. He mentioned to me during the filming, that some of it was being done at the Richmond Power Plant @ Lewis St & Delaware Ave.

exactly. If you drive over the Betsy ross and look over you can see exactly where they shot a scene at the old powerplant. Its so cool to see it in the movie

They filmed at the fraternity house at 36th & Locust that's referred to as "the Castle." I haven't seen the film (and won't until it's free) but understand the scene there is - surprise surprise - a fraternity party.

Here are a few from the first half of the movie.
I didn't know how to upload them here, so here's the link

I remember when the "Castle" was reinstated as a frat house!

I hope to watch it one day to invoke Penn nostalgia. Like you, my bf thinks it'd be better to wait until it's free instead of renting it.

Don't forget the Lehigh Valley scenes. The abandoned Bethlehem Steel Mills give an Oscar-worthy performance as a Shanghai Chemical Plant.

I saw it on a plane, but want to watch it on a bigger screen to make out more of the Philly locations.

Cool pics. One possible correction, though. The pic titled "MFL" doesn't seem to be the MFL. It looks to me like the train tracks that run along 25th Street in South Philly

    Default Added a few more

I added a few more snapshots from the movie. Apologise for the size but that's the biggest size my VLC player is giving me.

Thanks for the correction...I wasn't sure about the location.

Totally agree. I watched it only to see Philly and the second half was booooring! Haven't seen the first part so no idea if it was connected to the second one in any way.

In the preview I saw, they show a clip of City Hall getting blown up.

Not sure if it made the final cut.

The "south philly?" is actually next to York-Dulphin station. The rehab the building, as you can still see that from the EL.

We watched it the other night and I loved seeing all the parts of Philly portrayed as areas around the world.

One thing I did notice (and later clarified) is right at the end of the Air & space museum scene they are magically transported to the aircraft bone-yards at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. VA is a little bit of a distance from AZ LOL

Also what's labeled "PMA" is not, I'm pretty sure. Looks like another power station.

Love the proximity of the Eiffel Tower to City Hall tower. Who knew you could see that far if you just looked from the right angle?

Yes, that is the same Delaware River Electric Plant, but from the view of if you were taking a train towards Trenton.

Tho, I can see how it could of been mistaken it for a photoshopped PMofA

That one's crazy!! I think a few other shots with City Hall didn't make the cut....the ones with Paris subway signs? Or I missed it.
It's crazy how you can see Eiffel from anywhere (in the movies.)...amazing!
