    He was as philly as city hall or a cheese steak,all my life I heard this cats voice.We did not know he was white till later.South philly he came from.He loved the music From Pattie to Michael jackson.I am sure most of you people never heard of him.I was shocked to come here and even find a post.I am 54 I have heard him on DAS all my life.A true Philly cat he was.

    A friend of mine posted audio of Patty Jackson's all-day tribute to Butter on WDAS-FM from Friday. Listening to it now and so far I've heard call-ins from Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, Lionel Ritchie and Jeffrey Osborne.

    Philadelphia PA, July 30, 2012 – Clear Channel Media+Entertainment in Philadelphia announced today that funeral arrangements have been confirmed for WDAS Radio Legend Joseph “Butterball” Tamburro, who died Friday at the age of 70. Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul at 1723 Race in Philadelphia on Thursday August 2, 2012 starting at 10:00 AM.
