Default For sale: 2008 Kona Ute Cargo/Utility Bike

Looking for an affordable bike that can haul a serious load of groceries, a couple of kids, or just get you and your stuff to the office in comfort? The Kona Ute is an excellent all-weather commuter and utility bike. The Ute is a "longtail" cargo bike, meaning the rear portion is longer to allow for all your cargo-carrying needs. You can strap just about anything to this bike with some bungee cords and a little creativity, or add a couple of kids' seats and turn it into a human-powered minivan.

I purchased my 2008 Kona Ute brand new from Trophy Bikes in April 2010 for $850. The 2011 Ute is nearly identical and sells for $1049, but this one can be yours for $425 OBO. I am only selling it because I have too many bikes and haven't used this one as much as planned. The bike has seen light use (perhaps 500 miles) and is in perfect working order, with a few scratches here and there from bungee-ing stuff down. It has been stored indoors at all times.

The Ute rides like a Cadillac and feels very sturdy and stable. I am a 5'3" female and find it to be very comfortable to maneuver due to the lightweight aluminum frame and fat tires. The bike has a wide gear range so you can climb hills without worry, and a front fender to protect you from rain and road grime. Perhaps most important is the front DISC BRAKE which makes stopping a breeze in the rain, even when the bike is loaded down. The bike for sale is 100% stock and features the below specs:

    Frame: 18" Kona 7005 Aluminum
    Fork: Kona P2 Disc
    Headset: Ritchey LB-Plus
    Crankarms:FSA Alpha Drive

Included are 2 folding grocery panniers (like the one in the first photo at top) and one large, waterproof vinyl orange pannier specifically made for the bike (added on for $100).

I am available this Tuesday-Friday after 4:30pm, or this weekend most any time. I live near 49th and Locust. If interested, please PM me with the day and time you're available to see the bike. (Please note that none of the photos are of my actual bike, but it looks exactly the same--photos are to demonstrate the hauling capacity of this beast!)
