But will the gray hair NIMBY's kill it? It may cast a shadow on their potted plant.
Don't think there's anything for them to kill. A 27 story tower in a hypermax zoning area seems like it would float through L&I.
Didn't the ACC pass zoning?
Yes, I believe the space is still pre-zoned for 2.2 million square feet, although I don't know how the new code would affect it.
While I'm ecstatic to see a large office tower go up, I'm surprised it is only 27 stories / 400,000 square feet given the land went for $40 million. I expected something between 500,000-1m sq ft.
Don't worry - that was a different site (at SE corner). This site is much smaller, at the NW corner, just south of the Academy of Nat History. A 27-story, ~400 foot tall building would look very good here - about the same height as One Logan Square.
I'm sure LPT has much bigger plans in store for the former ACC site. Perhaps they have a longer-term strategy of trying to fill out the fringes of the area with smaller projects until the area has enough critical mass to support a monster project that is a genuine extension north of the business core along Market Street.
we can hope - would love to see something at least say 800 ft in the ACC location and with a W at 15th and Chestnut that looks to be in the 600 ft range some nice additions. Lets hope projects are back and with Cira South looking more promising a real change to skyline could be happening
So will this be mostly occupied by Comcast? That's the last rumor I heard
That's because the older you get, the smarter you get.I never underestimate the political powers of the geriatrics in the high rise apartments in those areas.
