Anyone notice that they seem to have left in the cover of night?
Also, do we expect Brooks Brothers to return....anyone see any workers going in there? Seems like a long time for a store to close for renovations.

I was hoping they were just relocating but it looks like they've left town altogether. But if you're in Philly you apparently get free shipping on their products, their way of trying to keep a customer base in the city.
Store Locations > Philadelphia: Walnut Street at Brooklyn Industries
Already a 'tenant obtained' sign in the window. That was fast.
Does anyone know who is going into this space?
Brooklyn Industries must have gotten bought out of their lease. I agree would have been better to see them relocate to Chestnut or elsewhere.
The store sucked and they were out of touch with the market, selling merchandise with the word Brooklyn all over it. Why would someone in Philadelphia where that? Prices were relatively high, pants were all one length and had to be tailored, who wants to do that for casual clothes?
Besides the dozen tshirts repping Brooklyn, this is what they came up with for Philly:

BarryG - you are sounding slightly un-hip. It wasn't a Docker's store - you are right.
Damn. I really liked this store. They had great jeans, bags, and jackets. Only a small portion of their stuff was logo wear.
be honest Barry - you never went in there. Right?
Manhattan Portage bags say Manhattan on them - and yet I see them everywhere.
Mitchell and Ness is selling tons of shirts, hats, etc. with logos other than local teams.
My mother used to wear a "Virginia is for lovers" T-shirt. She's very un-hip.
People walk around with subway maps from around the world on their shirts.
Go look at the website - read a bit about the store and its start. They had nice things in there, but the rent on Walnut is insane. So they moved out. And it wasn't because of the t-shirt logo that you didn't like. Brooklyn....get it..."no sleep till Brooklyn"- Beastie Boys - Brooklyn is trendy right now...artistic....the anti-Manhattan.
So, Barry - pull up those Sans-a-belt slacks and get out there a bit more. Walk until the Velcro on your shoes loosen. And for God's sake - take off that miserable clip-on tie.
I went there quite a bit because I wanted to like it. I bought some pants there I like (had to get them shortened because they only sell one length, and they have no tailor on staff--very annoying). A brand name on a bag, a team logo, even a subway map (maybe), these are not the same as wearing a shirt that says BROOKYN when you don't/didn't live there or have a tie to it. It's corny. You know this. And these shirts were the first things you saw when walking in store.
Looks like they closed their Boston store too. Hipster/hipster wannabes on the East Coast don't feel cool repping another East Coast city they don't live in? Who would have thought?
They try to make Brooklyn a brand, but they gota rethink that(or focus just online, since stores are so 1999).

a tailor on staff? That's so 1976.
When I buy casual pants at Daffy's and ask them for a tailor, they spit out their gum at me.
Do they have an in-house tailor at Barney's Co-op?
Since some people read "Brooklyn" and apparently thought "Brooks Brothers," let me weigh in on the latter:
They definitely define conservative prep style, but their clothes are very well made - and they NEVER go out of fashion because they were never in fashion to begin with. I kinda like that about the place.

Hey. I like clip-on ties.
And no, Barney's does not have an on-site tailor (so I certainly wouldn't expect Brooklyn Industries to have one). It's my only beef with the place (Barney's, that is).
That facebook tshirt is the worst
Saw that "tenant obtained" signs are in the window already. Any know anything?
Is Lush going to move here? (I don't know this, but just speculating)
2 floors seems like an awful lot of space for LUSH.
