This month's recipient is Nicole. Nicole ended up in the Intensive Care Unit due to extremely high blood pressure which was discovered only after she was in the emergency room for a dislocated shoulder. Nicole spent two nights in the ICU while the medical team worked to get her blood pressure under control. Nicole owns her own business as a dog trainer and was out of work due to her hospitalization and injury. Unfortunately, insurance only covered a portion of her bills and Nicole now owes a large amount of money to the hospital and doctor's office. She has taken on two additional jobs but still cant keep up with her medical bills and her monthly insurance premium and has since had to cancel her health insurance - not something she considered lightly!
