Before I even clicked the link, I bet myself that it was going to be about 15th street. Surprise, surprise.

The kids should have just said that they want to occupy philly, then everything would have been fine.

Perhaps these folks were getting a little restless while waiting for their reserved seats at Del Frisco's?

I keep waiting for a "flash mob" to attack occupy philly folks. They are probably they upset they aren't getting any attention.

Glad to see that they're finally getting on top of this. At this point, it seems as if the teens think that they're above the law. Curfew was enacted because of this foolishness, in the frist place.

Hats of to the Police Dept for catching this one before it could balloon out of control. If we can keep catching these things before they become big it will go a long way from thwarting future "flash mobs" from even starting. Great job!

Maybe this is a case of SEPTA working together with the cops to block these things from getting out of control in the first place.
Septa sees a bunch of rowdy kids getting off the subway downtown.. alerts police... flash riot averted. Good deal!

It's also gotten very predictable - warmer than usual weather & riot mabs go hand in hand, it seems. If I've made that connection, I really hope the cops have too and are more vigilant when we have an unusually warm day.

Unfortunately, they don't. I used to bring this up at every meeting. It gets hot and incidents rise. Neighbors and businesses scream, "something has to be done!!!!". Meetings and bureaucracy occur. By the time something is done, it is the end of summer. Incidents decrease. Everyone pats themselves on the backs about lower numbers, while ignoring that it got colder outside. everyone's happy. Then spring and summer come again-rinse and repeat.

In a couple of places there are new commanders that are more cognizant of this fact and tend to be very proactive. Lt. Bologna on South St. gets high marks for this.

Well, **** I got off at Suburban Station once because my train was pretty crowded when it got to the Gallery and the conductor was impatient with letting everybody off (me & other people were ready to walk out when we started moving )...never again. Some crazy guy smelling like piss yelling about killing white bitches. Fights at the bus stop. I was glad my dad was picking me up.
