WGCC Among Orgs Participating In National Night Out

Dear Friends of West Girard Community Council:

Thank you for your interest in WGCC. Today we're pleased to announce our participation in the National Night Out, which is scheduled for next Tuesday evening, August 7, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and coming to a STREET NEAR YOU!

National Night Out is a national community event designed to prevent crime, strengthen relationships between community and police, and bolster neighborhood spirit. COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS FROM THROUGHOUT THE AREA, from Lower North and North Central Philly, have come together to plan an evening where we can walk, parade, or stroll through our whole community, visit new places we might not have seen before, meet new people, as well as renew some old acquaintances.

The route is mapped out so that it includes major points of interest that are important to the various neighborhoods in our community. The beginning of the route is at The Arts Garage, 1533 Ridge Avenue, and the end of the route is at 33rd and Diamond.

West Girard Community Council will have a table set up at the location of our Farmstand, 27th & Girard, NW Corner. ... Plans currently call for our table to be a "hydration stop", where people can obtain water along the way.
