Default Brewerytown Food Truck Round Up - July 27th!

We are very excited be part of organizing and sponsoring this guaranteed-to-be-awesome event:

The Philadelphia Mobile Food Association is proud to announce the first annual Brewerytown Food Truck Roundup, one of the largest food truck events in the history of Philadelphia. An incredible selection of 15 plus PhillyMFA member trucks will showcase their culinary talents to a backdrop of live music, artisans, and even a pop-up farmers’ market sponsored by Brewerytown’s Marathon Farm.

This food and music extravaganza will be held on the one-acre green lot at the corner of 27th Street and West Girard Avenue on Friday, July 27th from 5 to 10 pm.

Wash down your bites with a cold local brew and join in a food competition hosted by Big Bite Philly , or chat with the many non-profits working on sustainable food issues in our city. Leading up to the Vendy Awards on Saturday July 28th, this will be a food truck weekend for Philly to remember!

Trucks: Vernalicious, Pitruco, Say Cheese, Foo Truck, Gozen Yogurt, Sweet Box, Lil Dan's Gourmet, Zea May’s, Spot Gourmet Burger, Nomad Pizza, Little Babies Ice Cream, Gigi & Big R’s Caribbean and Soul Food, Delicias, Zsa'a Ice Cream, Tamale Cart and Made in the Shade Lemonade.

Excellent. Really appreciate these types of events and always make it a point to attend and to spend $'s. It's in my calendar.

This will be fun. Great use for an otherwise empty lot. Any chance some future Girard taco peddlers might be making a preview-debut?

To be clear, you have to sign up for each service and then enter the promotional code to receive the coupons. Both services are smart-phone based.

Do the coupons require a Smart Phone or Equivalent?
Looks to me like you must sign-up for Level_Up and they give you a credit on their system, am I wrong, or are there other (unique) coupon offers.

Yes I believe you need a smart phone and also to be registered for the services (Level Up and Uber).

I really enjoyed it! The only disappointing part was that the empanada truck ran out of food less than halfway through the event.

Almost all the truckers were sold out, many well before the closing time, as you mentioned. This is a good problem to have as it indicates the amount of demand, and will lead to doing this more often, we believe.

    What a great event-thanks MMPartners!

    Thoughts for the next time

    Beer:
It seems like Vermont was well represented but where were the Philly brewers?
It might be more tasty to have small companies like St Benjamin (Kensington) and Earth-Bread+Brewery (Mt Airy) represent.

    Default Great event!

Many of my Fairmount neighbors came to the event last night! It was great and we all really appreciated being included in this great food truck culture we have going on here. The empty lot that was used is in such a prime location to bridge Fairmount and Brewerytown. Why is it still empty? What a great space for a community garden.

It's privately owned. It is the lot where the owner tried to build a McDonald's and the neighborhood flipped out. Apparently he has had a grudge about it since.

Default The 2600 Girard lot, et al

Simply put the lot owners believe that land is a valuable asset. During prior negotiations, they were asking too much $$$.

Don't forget Thursday August 2nd on Eakins Oval when the Street Vendor's Association will have their thing, and beer will be sold.

Yeah, that event was amazing. There must have been 300 people there. I didn't even think it was well advertized.

Also, thank god they didn't build a McDonald's there.
