That's quite admirable! And thanks for your reaching out.

    But who owns that lot?

Oh, boy. Adverse possession at its best. Should only take 20 years for there to be an easy-to-win action to quiet title.

If anyone is interested in helping out and has access to a truck . If you see any of those wood pallets lying around the street . Please pick them up and drop them on the lot . We could use about 10 .We will use them for the raised boxes .
Yesterday I saw those pallets made into chairs in front of American city on Girard ave. We would like to make a couple of those too . Thanks in advance .

Sad but true . Not one person wanted to build their own raised bed for veggies . Not one person drove by any pallets to make them with . Where oh where were the newbie's . You drive through fishtown on the weekend and you see young people out gardening , taking over lots and creating things . What's going on people . SAD BUT TRUE

So you are trespassing on someone else's land and deciding you can do whatever you wish on it? Sounds like grounds to get shot.

OMG! I almost fell off my chair laughing. You are hysterical, and right on the money! I do understand Love to Travel's frustration, however, his/her musings are probably not going to motivate the newbies, or anyone else, to join in and "create" all over Brewerytown.

Me too. I was part of an official neighborhood garden (with legal ownership of the land and all) and getting members to show for mandatory workdays was a continuous struggle. It's just the reality gardening as a community. The OP shouldn't expect it get any easier when there's common areas to weed and grass to mow. The guy that was there every month, and seemed to have been doing so for more than 20 years, had an easygoing personality and took it in stride. You get more flies with polite email reminders and a member keeping track of the minimum workday participation. That may even be how they're doing it in Fishtown.
