    Default New Pet Groomer?

I see a new awning on the north side of Girard, 1 or 2 stores east of 28th. The name is something like "Spot's 2nd Spot" and underneath it, it looks like "pet boutique and fresh butcher".

Am I reading that wrong, or is there another meaning of "butcher" that relates to pet grooming?

Exactly right. We believe the focus is more on food and acessories than grooming.

    Yep.

But, on the other hand, I often buy produce from Marathon and people ask me where I got the eggs and stuff. When I tell them, they kind of shut down. Like it's such a strange idea to buy produce from a farm stand. One guy asked if what I had free? He couldn't understand that I actually paid money for the stuff I got on the corner.

I really do wonder how any type fresh produce and meat market will do here. I wonder how entrenched the habits of eating sh!t food from the corner stores and chinese take out places really are.

In July 2008, the Los Angeles City Council passed a one-year moratorium on opening or expanding fast food establishments in South Los Angeles. The purpose of the moratorium was to address a perceived over-concentration of fast food restaurants in the South Los Angeles region and allow community planning to attract dining establishments, grocery stores and other options to enhance the quality of life for community stakeholders.
