Does anyone know if this is reopening this season? The number listed on the Fairmount Park website is disconnected and they tore the roof down last week.
Does anyone have more information?
Whoops. I meant "Golf" in the subject

Why not call 311 and ask them or the Recreation Dept. and let us know.
Amazingly they're actually upgrading the facility, which, as anyone who went there knows, was already on the verge of collapse. I love that place and I'm pumped to see the new pro shop. I recall seeing blueprints of the new structure posted on site some time ago, I'll see if I can find more info online somewhere
took a ride over today, thinking masters sunday would be a great day for my first range session.
shuttered.
it looked like there was some demo and cleanup. i asked a fella crossing the street and he said the stall's had been demo'ed 3 weeks ago and it hasnt been open since.
kind of leads me to think it was open already in march then maybe shut down for the reno's the former post is speaking off???
no idea honestly, that place kind of boggles my mind. i wonder if thats a city contract, could it be privately held by the old funny guy?
crazy to think we have a GRASS driving range 3.5 miles from city hall. its cool- no doubt, but imagine how good it could be.........
I walked by yesterday. There's a sign posted saying they will open April 30th.
This is great to see. Haven't been there since the Long Knockers have gone, but what a great place. If you don't know the history, it's worth taking a few moments to read up on. The Long Knockers Driving Range, in Philadelphia, is one - 10.07.91 - SI Vault Old-Timers at Home on the Driving Range : NPR Far beyond the attraction of a dirt-cheap bucket of balls, sitting around with Bill Stevens and the rest of the remaining Longknockers, listening to them go on about nothing in particular was something you couldn't get anywhere else. I hope it does open, if only to keep some small part of the tradition alive.
Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine.
drove by yesterday and it was open.
Ok, am I thinking of a different range? I went past Sunday morning to check it out because a friend and I were going to go, and it is still a big wreck of a building there with a sign saying "open April 20th" and still shuttered. I am talking about the range at 33rd and Oxford.
Anyone else have updates on this?
