Default Doubts dog Brewerytown supermarket plans

In Brewerytown, residents tend to treat plans for a new supermarket at 31st Street and Girard Avenue like Bigfoot sightings: Those who don't believe the supermarket will ever be built remain skeptical; those who do are staunch supporters of its reality.

Some even worried the plan had completely fallen through last week, when the Girard Supermarket Coalition canceled an April 8 meeting intended to let the developer brief residents on the design.

Has Al Alston shown up yet opposing it because its a white developer?

    Couldn't resist.
“If asking a millionaire to pay the same tax rate as a plumber makes me a class warrior, a warrior for the working class, I will accept that. I will wear that charge as a badge of honor. The only ‘warfare’ I’ve seen is the battle that’s been waged against middle-class families in this country for a decade now.”

Actually, the operators for this proposal are black.

    Take that!

And plus, it will probably piss off a lot of the Westrum condo owners, so I am sure he will take joy in that.

"In renderings shared with the Home News, the design of the supermarket will emulate the look of a farm or barn with an attached silo."

    How contextual...

That does sound a tad cheesy.

This stinks to high heaven. A couple from Jersey who have never run a supermarket are "developers", in cahoots with Frank Oliver, waiting for that seemingly neverending supply of Philadelphia "funding". Forget these clowns.

    Default Dogs doubt Brewerytown

And in other news, dyslexic agnostics doubt the very existence of dogs themselves, so it is a two way street, you know.
