The new construction next to the old Wachovia bank is coming along nicely. Apparently is also includes the bank building and they are building an addition to it.
Anyone know if there is an anchor tenant for the development or anything else about it?

This might be the medical office building that an acquaintance of mine is building. he mentioned it was on south broad st.
Whatever it is, its nice they didn't slap a parking lot infront of it. I like that it is built right up on the ROW line. The glass is cool too.
A good addition to Broad. I've been a big proponent of added density along the corridor....More jobs clustered around the subways.
I agree and hopefully the buildings immediately north will get their act together, they look like ****. It's also very cool that they are using the historic bank building as part of the development.
I think the new medical building is farther South; this has a big sign advertising "office/retail."
It's set back maybe 2 or 3 feet in comparison with the building North of it. It's definitely an improvement and should be pretty nice looking. I'd really like to see a big TOD project that drastically increases density compared to the surrounding row homes--especially on a block like this with subway entrances on each end. But, glad to see this step in the right direction and its making use of the old bank is nice.
I did notice that 2 or 3 feet, but that didn't really strike me as so bad....much better than a 100' setback with parking.
Yeah, a TOD development would be great.....there's another side of the street :-) Plus the diner lot, and the PEP boys, both of which would be easy teardowns.
There's the WIC office at Tasker, too ;-)
I wonder how easy the diner is. Steven Starr was reportedly twice in agreement to purchase it, but pulled out due to "environmental concerns." Maybe those concerns wouldn't matter if the structure was torn down, but maybe not.
I would love to see some high density residential on those first few blocks of Broad below Washington. Something the size of 777 or maybe a little smaller. I actually think this is a better location than 777 because of proximity to subway and East Passyunk.
Is 777 much higher density than the same size block with the 4 story row homes on Broad... like Reed to Dickinson, Broad to Juniper? I would like to see more buildings like this one at 13th and Chestnut. I doesn't help that most of S. Broad is R10a, I'd love to see it get upzoned in the remapping--at least on the block adjacent to subway stops.
This construction is coming along really nicely. It looks great.
Nobody has any idea if they have any tenants? What's going into the old bank building?
Next step is getting the awning fixed or replaced on the building next door.
The poverty agenda people who sadly simply perpetuate poverty need to be removed from power. They're keeping the people down, not helping them up, and keeping the city down in the process.
Ironically, I've taken the subway to that PGW office. It was over 9 years ago, though.
What is the cross street for this property you are talking about? "1100 block" doesn't jog my memory in that part of town.
If anyone was wondering who the anchor tenant is for the new office building at 1155 South Broad Street, it is THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE. The builder has signed a 20 year lease with the state for the entire building. The Snyder District Office currently located at 990 Buttonwood Street is moving to this location. Call them and they might tell you. (Phone: 215-560-4300) If you were wondering where your tax dollars are being spent, its on new welfare buildings in up and coming areas, destroying property values. There goes the neighborhood. Get ready for the riff raff, trash and drug deals common to most welfare office locations. That block is going to look like the methadone clinic block by Snyder Ave. near the Citizens Bank. The community as a whole needs to do something about this. Call and contact anyone you can to protest. Local Civic Associations, Building Associations, any association you can think of to put a stop to this.

I googled the 1155 South Broad Street address and can find nothing to indicate that there will be a DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE office there. I'm just curious where SNUGGLES got this information. The only thing I could find is the same post on a lot of other websites under the same name - SNUGGLES. Not doubting SNUGGLES sincerity, just wondering how one would go about verifying this information, how did you verify it?
EDITED TO ADD: Actually - now that I look at it: SNUGGLES joined and first posted on 8/8 - about the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE, and all posts have been about that - here on two different forums. Might SNUGGLES have an agenda? SNUGGLES - You have been posting the same thing all over the Philadelphia related internet. Would you please site your sources for this information.
