I'm throwing this out there, but does anyone know if there's a way to obtain a copy of an existing Certificate of Occupancy for a building? It's a church, over 100 years old, and they don't know if they have one or where it would be if they do. But surely there's some record of them being allowed to operate as a church and gathering place. Some but not all parts of the building are ADA compliant. 311 doesn't know and couldn't help me figure out where I might ask. There has been no change of use since the building was built. I would love any guidance from anyone here who knows more than 311 about where the city keep copies of such things.
