Walking back from the Art Museum last Friday I thought to myself what an improvement even soem new townhomes or shorter apartments would be here.
Would the possibility to subdivide this space even exist

I commute by this area every day, and every day I think, "how the **** does this exist?"

Does anyone know the story here? I hate the dinky garage front rowhomes on the block as it is, but this is just outrageous.
I wouldn't call that block the most hospitable...it's a bit of a dead zone with all that parking along the street. A high-density tower would be a better fit I would suspect.
Somebody's sitting on it waiting for a 60 story hotel to be built there ? - how the hell should I know? ! Same with hundreds of parcels in this town.
Figured since you'd been staring at it for 40 years you might know the nutbar that's sitting on this parcel.
Sorry - no.
To be honest, thoth, I ask "how the **** does this exist" when I see about eight thousand empty lots in Philadelphia, many of them higher-profile than this. What makes this one so conspicuous, in your view?
I would hate to live that close to the Eakins Oval. It's like a freeway interchange with a statue in the middle.
