It's a shame that Post Brothers can't throw the book at the whole union. They're all about solidarity until one of them gets arrested.
they succeeded in intimidating developers and contractors for decades. wanna work on your own? come out and find your pickup window smashed. over time you just leave the city and work elsewhere.

The Post Brothers knew this was a Union town when they showed up here. Local developers accept it as a cost of doing business here, but not them. Interestingly, the Post Brothers had no problem supporting a tax on their neighbors for the NID and paying that tax, but can't pay a decent wage on their project. Disgusting. The neighborhood defeated them on the NID. Let's hope the Unions can put the Brothers in their place. too.

Post Brothers are breaking no laws. The unions are. You think that law abiding development is disgusting but throwing bottles of urine into the site isn't? If there wasn't a market for market rate labor no one would be working at that site.

Blind support for union mafias is dying. They've done nothing but chase their own business to the suburbs and labor friendly cities elsewhere, and consumers and employers are wising up to that fact.

Philadelphia was a union town. The support that lingers is simply loud, but not nearly as universal as it once was, and entirely out of touch with the modern world.

Business is business. If the union extortionists weren't chasing construction projects out of the city, they'd have a lot more to work to picket. Either way they'd still be standing around not working.

Kudos to Post Brothers. It's too bad small business owners can't afford the same private security to protect their property from being destroyed by these criminals.

really, is that why most developers sit around waiting for a handout? the only thing disgusting is that you support a bunch of jersey thugs screwing the city.

Once again, kamakiri's character shows through. It's all just desserts for Post Bros. because they supported the NID, while kamakiri can support violence, intimidation, and racism, both on the part of the white union workers who are protesting the use of minority contractors, and on the part of PCDC who want no white people on their turf.

Disgusting is that you infer the "cost of doing business" is getting your property vandalized by a bunch of out of state goons because you didn't hire "enough" union workers. You do know that there are plenty of union contractors that subcontract out work to non-union laborers, right? The whole thing is just a game to them.

But I guess, for you, the enemy of your enemy is your friend, right? Why not stick your neck out for your union brothers vandalism now that somebody that supported the NID got their property vandalized? They deserved it, right? Great sense of justice, there. I'll remember to throw a bag of **** at your house the next time we have a disagreement.

I just hope the dispute ends with Post Brothers completing this building. Unfortunately I'm envisioning a nonsensical court case funded by the union heads that will ultimately run a frustrated Post Brothers to a more business-friendly city, or simply without the funds to continue developing the Goldtex building.

"By any means necessary" seems to be the mantra of this union, and turning to court is just one of their many sleazy tactics. Post Brothers clearly pointed out that these picketers are protesting their own jobs. If members would open their eyes for a moment and pay attention to the facts, they'd realize that the only people hurt by fair developers and market rate labor are the Mob Bosses that extort their own members.

The Pestronks and their company, Post Goldtex L.P., of Germantown, want Common Pleas Court Judge Leon Tucker to order the unions to stop what they say is a campaign of violence, vandalism, and interference with their $38 million construction project. A hearing was originally scheduled for Friday morning, but will likely be delayed.
The court case is against the unions for interference with the project.

It'd be interesting to see what the substance of this counter-case would be. "Yeah, we threw asbestos on the site, creating a cancer risk for everyone in the goddamn neighborhood, but you gotta understand: they hire other people, not just our members! There's gotta be a law against that somewhere!"

"Constituents had informed him that they suspected that workers were being paid improperly."

This is ridiculous. How do you suspect a wage?

I'm a constituent. I pay taxes. I suspect that SEPTA employees are being paid improperly. They get too much. Where's my investigation?

No, just a moron who thought the workers would go all Bugs Bunny slipping on it the next morning.

hopefully the Post brothers continue to upset the apple cart, time to take the power back. you've screwed us long enough. since you're open to slander, why don't you post the wages the Post brothers are paying so we can all see if it's a "decent wage" or are you just talking out your wazoo? disgusting.

Mr gillespie, perhaps you can explain why the carpenter union in DC can quote a rate of $35 per hour while your rate is $65. The game's up, I'm afraid.
